A new story from TRUNKS ART about discovering creative brilliance where you'd least expect it! Story of Gratitude #7...

Raleigh, North Carolina - October 12, 2021 - STORIES OF GRATITUDE (#7): People still read, right?  I spent a month writing this 15-page short story to make sure it's entertaining, interesting, and thought provoking.  This is a TRUE STORY about Keith Jordan who, in 2017, not only reminded me, literally and figuratively, not to judge a book by its cover, he showed me that creative brilliance can shockingly spring up from where you'd least expect it.  Ironically, he did this while I was creating the artwork for his ACTUAL book cover!

Raleigh, North Carolina - September 27, 2021 - "Bye Bye Summer" (#10/12) - I do this every year.  It's actually quite embarrassing.  I'll make a big show of how I'm not ready for summer to ride off into the sunset yet all I did was complain about it from the get go.  If it wasn't about the incessant inferno of heat and humidity, it was about the tourists clogging the highways and descending on beach towns like hungry locusts.  Don't let this idyllic, make-you-throw-up-in-your-mouth art rendering fool you.  I'm not the guy on the surfboard - especially since a friend pointed out that he looks like the late, great Scott Weiland of the Stone Temple Pilots.  If you look real closely, you'll see me in the lower left corner. 💖💖💖

"A Need For Speed" is the latest in the Nature Series by TRUNKS ART!

Raleigh, North Carolina - September 9, 2021 - "A Need For Speed" (#9/12) - Every now and then, an art piece of mine screams for a musical score and John Mayer's "Wild Blue" IS that song; because it too is happy, candy-like yet the message is dark, even devastating in the undertones.  Buried amongst intoxicating guitar riffs that lull you into believing flowers can sing are the lines, "Riding in the wilderness, living off the loneliness."  I get that and maybe you do too.  So where is my bike speeding to?  Or, away from?  Where are WE going?  All I know is that I really want to get there so I can stop, rest, breathe and put away this incessant need for speed. 💖💖💖

"Beneath Us" is the latest from TRUNKS ART! Number 8 in the Nature Series!

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho - April 8, 2021 - "Beneath Us" (#8/12) - We live within the confines of the space-time continuum which means that we sometimes have great times in great spaces - at the same time.  For me, an instance like that came when I stuck my head in the warm Caribbean waters off the coast of Curacao and saw an underworld of sea life that I will never forget.  Bad times and lousy spaces are bound to happen from time to time but I try to remember that they don't last forever and that gratitude and positivity are always within arm's reach. 💖💖💖

TRUNKS ART revamps the logo for the band, THE MIGHTY MANATEES!

 

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho - April 1, 2021 - From time to time, I'm asked to revamp a logo in my style of art.  This one was for "The Mighty Manatees," a band based in Montgomery County, just one county over from where I grew up in Philadelphia.  Like the new look? 💓💓💓
